ABOUT THE EVENT
In an evolving international arena of free trade and globalization, the process of development across Latin America has become more multifaceted and dynamic than ever. In this discussion, we will be examining the nature of development both throughout the region and in individual Latin American states. What is development? How do historical trends in development impact Latin America today? What are Latin America’s greatest development needs? What obstacles have presented the major challenges to development in the region? How will the changing role of foreign players in development impact the future of the hemisphere? How will the changing role of bilateral and multilateral players in development impact the future of the hemisphere? And what is the role of young people in this regional shift?
Foreign Affairs with Future Leaders is a series of youth-led discussions which analyze various international issues and topics by collaboratively addressing their most critical questions. They are co-hosted by the Onero Institute and the Delta Phi Epsilon Professional Foreign Service Fraternity at GWU.
